Dr. Alban is originally from Nigeria, and immigrated to Sweden in his early 20s. In Sweden, he went to school to study dentistry, and started DJing at nightclubs in Stockholm to finance his studies. This song is clearly about his father, who was against Dr. Alban leaving Nigeria for Europe.
