This song could mean many different things.. I think it's about someone who needs to make up their minds about how they feel about someone and wether they want to be with them. I absolutley ADORE the line: "Looking back to when I kissed you, I opened up my eyes,Nothing compared to the way I felt with you there that night" :) |

I think the song IS about a car race/crash.. but perhaps not a literal one. Maybe a relationship which seems a lot like a car crash. I know I can relate to that. |

It seems to me about a girl that he is close friends with who is suffering from some kind of depression or heartbreak... I hadn't thought about the song in that way untill reading those comments... To me it's about being unfaithful to my boyfriend. We were fine and perfectly in love for over a year untill I went on holiday and met someone and cheated and now my boyfriend and I are on the rocks and all I can think of is the other guy whilst with him which is leading to our inevitable break up.. "Comparisons are easily done Once you've had a taste of perfection Like an apple handing from a tree I pick the ripest on i still got the seed" Before we were fine now I keep comparing my boyfriend to him because he is more my 'taste of perfection'. "You said move on Where do I go? I guess second best is all I will know" The other guy has now told me that it cannot work for us due to distance and various other things, so second best; the boyfriend, is all I will know. "Cause when I'm with him I am thinking of you, thinking of you What you would do if You were the one who was spending the night Oh, I wish that I was looking into your eyes" Obvious.. just wishing it was him instead. "He kissed my lips I taste your mouth He pulled me in, I was disgusted with myself" Thinking of him all the time, and the disgust with myself as I think of being unfaithful to my boyfriend. The 'lesson learned' and getting 'burned' is the fact that all the affair has caused is pain and suffering for everyone involved. The 'mistakes' being the cheating. ANYWAY, that's just a different perspective of the song from my personal POV. |

This song reminds me of a very special guy I spent a very short amount of time with whilst on holiday during a very hard time in my life. We had three amazing days and two amazing nights together before we had to go our seperate ways, probably to never meet again due to the distance. Basically; Did you know what you were doing, did you know? Did you know how you would move me? Well, I don't even think so But the moment's magic swept us away And it's so close, but we're so far away. |
