you guys pretty much got it. this song is amazing and if it goes mainstream i think i might have to choke someone. they need to come to the US, even though this place is pretty lame. they could spice it up. i'm loving that harmonica part. |

"Everyone's ashamed Well we all just got caught looking At somebody else's page" Those three lines intrigue me the most. I agree, basically the meaning is missing a good chance and then when realizing what opportunity had been lost, going back and seeing what a huge mistake had been made. I hate being cliched, but the first two verses sound like a relationship to me. "we were begging for the past" = wanting to go back to the old times, obviously. "Well we all just got caught looking" = he wants to know how this person is doing without being obvious- kind of like a myspace profile, if you will. you want to look at someone's myspace to see how they're doing, but then not know you were there due to pride or shame or etc. "As if we got a new position" = pretending to be relieved at his new, lower status with this person, like he's denying that this person/thing was ever worth it. after that my brain just turns into goo thinking about it. i'd rather not speculate on the meaning too much, because this is one orgasmic song, especially that 3.20 part. i listen to this in class and my legs tingles just from wanting to get up and do a dance- but i don't even know what dance is appropriate for this song, it's too... unique. jajajajjjj |

1. Yes, you guys are right about the definition. 2. Yes, it's oath, I've listened to it carefully about ten times and it sounds like "th." however it makes more sense with the phrase as "home" or "own" home because he's talking about the world's problems but own if he's rephrasing the line above it. when i listen to the song it seems like the "th" is detached from the "ho" and he just stuck in there for some reason. and plus, i don't know if he's enunciating an "h" in front of that word or it's just a really deep breath. =/ it does sound like oath though. |
