I think he is trying to visualize the world through the female perspective as she is seeing more than him in this song. For example, "the sunset in your eyes" is her ability to see more beauty around her with greater ease. Cobwebs = Old patterns, old thoughts. Smelling the garden in her hair is about love and hopefulness. I think it's about escapism, awareness and growth: "Listen not to what's been said to you" seems to mean they are searching for a new path, new routes of wisdom instead of the status quo. The train is taking them to a new destiny. It's about opening your eyes and seeing what's around you no matter where you may be, even if just transported somewhere magical like Morocco in a song. And yes, I believe they're getting high while doing it, ha ha. |

Someone is experiencing pain due to a loss of some sort. He reassures the person during their time of crisis that whoever is responsible for their pain is not worth their tears. The loss has left the person feeling lost and he can see that the person is in a place where they need someone to help them during their difficulties. He writes: "But if I'm one thing Then that's the one thing I should know" I believe this is a self-revelation on his behalf. He is saying that he is someone who is aware of what's going on and will be there and be supportive for that person. He's creating a feeling of security for them while they are a in a temporary fragile state. I think he's being comforting by saying, "Can anyone find their home?" meaning it's hard for everyone sometimes. It seems like a relationship has ended and he's acknowledging the difficulty of all relationships. The sun is a symbol of optimism and hopefulness...maybe being lost in the sun has to do with the person blindly believing that things would work out, then the pain that followed when they didn't. I believe the "home" he speaks about in this song is a higher spiritual relationship between two people...a real connection. "Out of everyone" is about how hard it is to find and keep that kind of connection. He's not trying to offer a solution, he's just saying "I'm here for you...I understand." It's a really beautiful song. |
