Will was quoted as saying that it wasn't included because they have to use some songs for exclusives and they chose this one, probably because, while I think it's just as good as any song on Cycles and better than some, even, it doesn't quite seem to fit on the album (a little "poppier" than the album, I'd say, what with the piano and all). Or maybe that's just b/c I know it's a bonus track so I'm preconceiving that notion. Regardless, that was his reason. I love this song, especially the chorus. Loads of fun to harmonize with. |

Does it annoy anyone else to no end that Brendon's first note on "Dance, dance" is completely off key? Man that's disappointing... He's such a good singer but that sharp note just kills the moment... |

What's up with that super high pitch near the end of the song? I mean, I get that they're "turning up the volume," but did it have to be physically such that it hurts to listen to the song itself? Other than that, this song is fantastic. This album totally grew on me in the best way possible. |

"Deas Vail, meaning “God” in Latin and “humble servant” in old French." So why does it seem as though they're taking God's name in vain in the second verse? Perhaps I'm not reading deeply enough into the lyrics--I truly doubt they'd mean that in vain. But I can't see how it would be used otherwise in that context. Any thoughts? Someone from the band maybe? :) |
