| A lot of you say it's about love, but I agree only with emilie24. Why had the PV shown that eerie George Bush-esque face? Really, that would be a very awkward metaphor for anything love related, you think? I can only think of soldiers dying, mostly Iraq because I'm from te U.S., but possibly all wars. And like emilie24 said, trying to get past it, ignore it, PTSD, etc. Dozing Green makes me think of being face down wounded/dead in the grass...and then onto the "eyes with bugs on them," dead soldiers, them being left there to be found or decay, and on and on, etc.. | |

I'm sitting here with an interpreted interview, and Kaoru says of saku, that "For example, one of our songs is called Saku, and that's about the experience of being from a broken home and the emotional problems that creates. The guy in the song wants to die but tomorrow always comes and he carries on. We're not saying 'be happy' all the time, but that's te spirit behind a lot of the songs." I find that last part kind of strange.. I know the point is to express what you yourself think, but this is from Kaoru himself, so.. |

This is probably too obvious. But I feel as though it's told from the point of a child with a negligent mother. Who probably indulges in drugs, one night stands, and isn't making any attempt to make better a life for her or her child. "I go up the stairs blind/blind stairs intently" makes me picture said kid literally going up the stairs, terrified of how he will find his mother, whether she not be there at all, maybe OD'd, fucking, etc. "The song game of counting petals" makes me think it's probably another reference to Japanese culture, something chlidren do, and so it could be an irony or contrast of a happy game, but it also reminds me of the American song, "ring around the rosey, pocket full of posey, ashes, ashes, well all fall down." The ending of course, saying everyone dies. |
