I love and hate how this song completely ... brings to light my biggest insecurities. Being fairly new to relationships and such, it depresses me to realise that things said during the initial period of floaty happiness when two people are just starting to get involved sexually, things that were said don't mean... much at all. And 6 months later, those words can be reduced to shallow ... lust and text messages. There's almost a sense of mourning in this. 'I think you're damn right there is, but we can't talk about it now.' He doesn't care enough to talk about it. What they have is empty. I guess it's all already been said. Good song, this. :] |

'I don't feel at all like i fall.' I have this line stuck in my head, repeating over and over. I don't feel like i fall. I don't FEEL like i FALL. Its meaning still isn't completely clear to me, and i suppose it isn't intended to have one definite interpretation (obviously different people will have different understandings of the line) but just from these words i get a sense of floating around in space, feeling numb and indifferent. When you FALL you do so with gravity. In a way, gravity, and therefore 'falling', represents reality. Gravity gives things weight. Gravity, and the fact that you will fall, is inevitable on earth. It hurts you in a physical sense, and you feel pain, so therefore you feel real - you feel human. To not FEEL things like you fall, is to not feel things with gravity, weight, pain, and a real physical sense of being there. Instead you are numb. Barely there, like nothing is real, nothing really matters. You aren't feeling with gravity, with reality, so you just feel indifferent, numb and lost. Simply going through the motions of life. I guess that sort of goes with the whole 'we're losing all touch, losing all touch.' Society is going through the motions so routinely, in such a structured way, that we are losing touch, we barely see the point of it any more, so we're becoming isolated from each other. Ok, so this is just a guess that's probably already been said, but i keep thinking about it, so i thought i should just put it out there. |

This song... just blows my mind. Hopefully i'll be seeing them in November xD. I was thinking about what 'it' is this song is talking about. My initial thought was drugs, alcohol, or perhaps just that reckless 'party' lifestyle. It makes sense that that way of living may have 'saddened friends' and 'claimed lovers'. I don't understand what the chorus (when it comes, it will feel like a kiss) is refererring to, perhaps an overdose or something :/ ... probably completely off, but whatever, song is awesome. However i think RayMonkey42 has an excellent point/idea... and i agree with it more than i agree with my own crappy half baked idea. :] Bloc Party > love. kthxbi. |

This is my favourite song off the album. xD And yeah, its obviously just about lust, and desire and the search for love. Wanting someone and wondering if they'll 'complete you'. Never gets old. 'The spark of desire On every point our bodies meet' I love it. |

I think someone else said it, but the remixed version of this song is amazing. The original is... a bit meh. But i love the message. Going no where in life, feeling apathetic, pointless. Having no goals, or any idea 'what we're gonna do'. This relates to the whole having a job that you hate thing. I listen to this when i want to depress myself. Still, great song. |

This is so sad. 'Where the one you love keeps on living, Without you there' This line makes me weep. Or at least struggle to stop my eyes from getting watery. I think its about a relationship ruined by her own insecurity of his/her love, her own lack of self esteem. She finds out that he loved her as much as she loved him after its too late, hence the whole 'keeps on living/growing/moving without you there' parts. Its about how painful and sad and hard it is to be away from someone you love. About loss. Nothing new, but this is an amazing song. :( |
