Type O Negative – I Like Goils Lyrics 17 years ago
"whats wrong with being gay, ? even though i am not gay I dont see that there is a problem with being gay. unfortunately i feel that pete and his lyrics here are starting to become more conservative than I would care for, but I still love the music... I dont get it..."

Oh my, you used a stereotype. I guess that makes you "more conservative."

STFU. Peter is just joking around.

Amon Amarth – The Pursuit Of Vikings Lyrics 17 years ago
"Metalheads, listen up: your bands are artless and laughable. Your scene is composed of antisocial misfits, pretentious stoners, and moronic sociopaths. You look ridiculous to the outside world, your supposed angst and darkness and brutality are downright comedic, and you are walking punchlines for those of us with standards. Get a life, nerds."

Huh? What are you doing out of your cubicle, sheep? You never sound like this in public. Oh wait, that's because your a coward.

P.S. Owned.

Nevermore – Enemies Of Reality Lyrics 17 years ago
I think what everyone has failed to explain so far is the line: "No one understands what we've been given."

I think it is one of the most powerful lines in the song. To me it means we we're born with a certain potential that few people understand... and that is free thought. It is there, but not many people truly use it. And it is probably human being's greatest strength.. without it, we wouldn't have anything near the technology that we have now.

And that ties in perfectly with bananaphone05's interpretation, if you think about it. (I am too lazy, you can figure it out)

Also, the statement "The less you understand, the more you're driven" is very powerful, and true. It is about the fear of the unknown... it is the core driving force for every war that has ever been fought. It is an extremely dominant fear. Why do we fear death? Because it is unknown to us what it is like and what happens after. Fear of the unknown

Canibus – Poet Laureate II Lyrics 17 years ago
THIS TRACK IS UNBELIEVABLE. I can't understand why Canibus is so under-appreciated. These lyrics.... fucken blow away 99.9% of MC's out there.

But then again, it's the same principle of why movies like Harry Potter, 300, and Lord of The Rings have so many more fans than films like "There Will Be Blood" and "No Country For Old Men." Things that make people think tend to be less popular than mindless stimulation.

Obviously there are some exceptions to that generalization, such as Batman: The Dark Knight, which appeals to stimulation junkies, intellectuals, and whatever combination in-between. But that's a pretty rare occurence.
