this tune is pretty self - explanitory. Pendulum hail from Australia and Swire (who i assume wrote the lyrics) probably has someone really close to him back home who he misses like fuck. |

When i first heard this song, i immeditaely assumed that it was aimed at their 'critics'. 'It's simple, you were wrong, you must have known that we did not belong' Does anyone else think that this could be referring to the change of genre that they have been slated for regarding In Silico. Leaving the drum and bass behind and heading into their own genre? I think that the fact that it's placed as the opening track is symbolic, as the first thing their 'opponents' will hear, almost making 'Showdown' a statement. |

This was the first song that they started working on, on in silico. apparently they started a week after they did the voodoo people remix. not that thats of any relevance to the song. i wouldn't know where to start on the meaning at all, i know that posting possible corrections to lyrics is frowned upon, but to me it sounds like the opening line says
'keep your visions, change the sound'

i agree with whoever said that this song may have references to suicide bombers, not only for the lyrics, but for the title of the song. Propane Nightmares, Propane is highly explosive gas (i think), and the 'Nightmares' speaks for itself.

i read an interview with rob swire, he says that this song is about homosexuality. "That place you don't want to go as a straight male dude" - do you reckon that is a connection to the 'come with us through the gates of hell'? |
