Ministry – Just One Fix Lyrics 14 years ago
Wow 13 comments, and not one about the meaning of this song.

It's about Al's legendary heroin addiction, in case anyone couldn't figure that out.

Ministry – NWO Lyrics 14 years ago
Here we go again with the 'liberal government takeover of private business'. If you think Obama got into office through fraud instead of votes (as Bush did), you should investigate the evidence of that. If you can't find any, just accept that the majority voted for him fair and square, and his administration hasn't done ONE thing that he didn't campaign on. While you're at it, maybe ask yourself why the hell a government with control of the most powerful military and intelligence in the world would take over the country by buying out a few failing banks over the course of four years?

This song is about the New World Order as conceived and set forth by David Rockefeller and the Trilateral Commission. In short, it is the 'global private business/banking elite takeover of democratic government'. Everything you mention about it being the other way around is EXACTLY what PR companies and media strategists with ties to the intelligence industry are paid vast sums to make you think. But don't take my word for it, here are some quotes on the matter:

"Some even believe we (the Rockefeller family) are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure---one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it." --David Rockefeller, Memoirs

"But the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The super-national sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries."
-David Rockefeller, at a 1991 Bilderberger meeting

"We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis and the nations will accept the New World Order." -David Rockefeller

“There’s class warfare, all right but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.” -Warren Buffet

If this wasn't a Ministry page, I wouldn't care about this crap. But this goes out to Al. Fuck the thieves and liars.

M.I.A. – Bucky Done Gun Lyrics 15 years ago
I hear "We want Bucky done gun, we want the fire done burn", which I thought was West Londoner slang for Buckingham Palace burning; a symbol of old imperialism falling to revolution. Even if bucky is britspeak for gun, the double meaning would be typical for MIA.

Oh and the rest of the song is mainly about sex...not all that subtle.

M.I.A. – Steppin' Up Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is all gangster drug dealer club culture. It's kind of an industrial-dancehall answer to 50 Cent's 'In Da Club'. Weights by the ton for the party to enjoy...

Pretty sure the line is

Basslines and ass anything 's fast
Humpin' on my leg
Yo I'm on my fucking glass

which I took to mean she's high on her own amphetamine supply. "I'm tooled up to the tee" can have a double meaning: packing weapons but also blitzed on drugs. "I tie up just for fun" could be bragging that she's so hardcore she injects speed (or whatever) for the hell of it. There was a huge amount of amphetamine use in the London club scene back in the day, so there might be some nostalgia here. Obviously it's all just gangsta style and not meant to be taken as seriously as M.I.A.'s super political stuff. The chainsaw at the beginning reminded me of the ultraviolent scene in Scarface.

On the back of the disk:
“They can rewrite history, but we can re rewrite it faster. We have speed in our hands, amphetamines in our system, and the system is corrupt.”

The Chemical Brothers – Let Forever Be Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm pretty sure the correct lyrcs are "scream a symphony", and "to be a crystalline". Yes the grammar sounds weird, but I think it's part of the overall psychedelic wording such as "How does it feel like" and "to make it happening".

Overall, this seems like the majority of all Chemical Brothers songs, to be about the psychedelic experience and mind altering hallucinogenics. As many have pointed out, it bears some resemblance to the Beatles psychedelic classic "Tomorrow Never Knows", a song that the Chemicals often used to play during DJ sets.

I sincerely doubt it's about meth, and not just because I don't think the line is "crystal fiend" (and definitely not Cristophe, whatever that's supposed to refer to.) It's just not keeping in character for the Chemicals to be that sardonic and cynical with a single lyric during what's otherwise a beautiful kaleidoscopic soundscape. And as the British poster above noted, Noel Gallagher probably wouldn't add that kind of lyric himself.
