| Muse – The 2nd Law: Unsustainable Lyrics

Everyone saying that Earth is not an isolated system. You're right and wrong at the same time. Obviously there is a universe that we belong too. But we are fortunate to be in the "Goldilocks Zone" and our planet can survive with US on it. This makes it, from the human perspective of survival, an isolated system. As George Carlin said in response to "save the planet" folks .. "The Earth will be fine, you are worried about yourself." He's right. Our survival is unsustainable. Beside the last line in the first verse reads, "an economy based on endless growth is unsustainable." So, I think he's talking about systems within systems here, not just the Earth. Basically, the way some nation's economies are set up will lead to our survival coming to an end. And I, personally, agree with that 100%. |

Black Lives Matter before Black Lives Matter was a thing.
Pearl Jam was 20 years ahead most of the social issues plaguing our country.
Long before it was hip and trendy to be woke. |

This song is very powerful. It can move you without even knowing the lyrics. Just the music itself stirs up emotions.
I think it's a call to young people, a song for inspiration to young people trying to find their way in the world. The first verse is about a young man who is struggling to come to grips with his not-so-popular sexual preference. The second verse sounds like a young mother trying to flee a war zone, such as Syria, to find safety and security for her and her child.
Not it's even more powerful than before. |

This song is definitely political. References to 1984 and how the government are a bunch of hypocrites. They proclaim a free country while simultaneously trying to brainwash the people. And at the end of the song, Eddie sings about the country he envisions, where everyone is free and happy. It's pretty easy to decipher. |

I think this song is more about the divide between religion and science. Someone maybe who is a Christian and is learning about the universe and they're starting to believe more heavily in the "other side." |

Yes, this is very powerful. With W gone I don't think they do it live any longer. When you watch Eddie sing this song you might think he wrote it by the way he belts it out. Sad thing is though, John wrote this song 40 years ago and it still applies to today. Kudos to Eddie and the boys for resurrecting it. |

| The Killers – Neon Tiger Lyrics

I read a few comments and I think everyone is on the right track.
Brandon Flowers is singing this song to a tiger that was brought to Vegas from, most likely, Vietnam. Considering he mentions Saigon. The tiger was fooled and caught (they promised just to pet you) and is now being used by the captors in an attempt to get rich. (redeem themselves from poor decisions)
He is singing to the tiger to run, get away, back to where you belong. The song is sympathy for the tigers that are kept in his hometown.
I think it's noble lyrics and the song is wonderful, musically. My favorite from this album, for sure. |

Sounds good but that's incorrect. The song is about celebrities and musicians and how fake they are. The "glass" is the TV. |

i think this song is about a relationship, i came here to read the lyrics after i heard it on the radio and it seemed to relate to my relationship.
when my lady and i have issues it seems like i do all the talking and she just sits there, she really sucks in the face of adversity. i get really frustrated and have to guess what she is thinking and feeling. i sing this song and think of her.
great stuff from phil. |

The first comment got it right, no need to read the rest. I looked up the lyrics to this because the feeling i have reminded me of the song title. I did not read them and say, oh yeah sometimes i feel like that. My feelings lead me here. |

megsmiley is right, its a bit obvious, but i've always lived by a certain code. no matter what happens, things could be worse. and if you put work in good things are going to happen to you. just have to keep living. i sent these lyrics to a friend of mine who was having some stress with school/work and she and her friend read them, listened to the song and cried together. they felt better afterwards. Thank you CM. |
