| The Fray – All At Once Lyrics | 16 years ago |

To me, this song is about a guy who is looking for the right girl but is also scared to commit. He tries to deny his feelings because he is scared. [“Maybe you want it, maybe you need it, maybe it’s all you’re running from”] He has set an unrealistic high standard when it comes to relationships which will make him miss out on the girl who is truly 'the one'. The lines ["Looking for the right one. You line up the world to find. Where no questions cross your mind."] & [But she won't keep on waiting for You without a doubt. Much longer for you to sort it out."] support the preceding statement. This girl has been in his presence for a while ["There are certain people, You just keep coming back to. She is right in front of you"]. They could be in some on/off relationship, because these lines imply that the lovers have broken up in the past, but for some reason came back together constantly as well. Because of his high and unrealistic perception of what a relationship should be like, he is constantly questioning and doubting whether this girl is truly the 'best' option ["You begin to wonder. Could you find a better one"]. The rest of the song merely sounds like the singer wants to advise the guy to open up his eyes and heart before he misses out on her and regrets it for the rest of his life. Basically everyone around these lovers sees they could work their problems out [“all at once the crowd begins to sing: Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same”] The guy needs to learn that relationships are not equivalents for perfections [“Perfection will not come.”] before he loses this girl to another and it’s all too late. ïŠ This is just my humble perception of the song, sounds pretty legit though. After analysing these lyrics I appreciate this song even more, only just discovered it today! x |

| Rihanna – Fire Bomb Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I agree with the person above that said this is about the demise of a relationship. - [Gunfire left a hole in the tank] Something caused damage to the relationship [losing gasoline] and now it's losing its strength or life power. - [Fire is on my trail and it's after me] The she-person singing sees the approaching decline or end of the relationship, which chases her. - [Hope it don't get here before I get where I'm going I gotta get where I'm going Take off my mask to breathe ] Unsure how to interpretate these sentences. Maybe she wants to run away for the approaching end and is still in some sort of denial phase? - [You could've been a part of a masterpiece Fluid in the breaks was the last to leak That's the thing ] Maybe these sentences signify that everything could have been perfect in the relationship, but the lovers didn't know when to stop and continued their already poisened relationship. -[Where I'm going, I don't need my brakes Can't wait to see your face When your front windows break And I come crashing through] She's lost all hesitation and wants to get rid of the other half in the relationship and their shared memories. -[The lovers need to clear the road Cause this thing is ready to blow] Quite obvious, the relationship is at a dead end and it's only a matter of time before the whole thing 'blows' up and the 'lovers' are gone. -[I just wanna set you on fire So I won't have to burn alone Then you'll know where I'm coming from Fire bomb] This part sounds quite bitter. As if she wants to put the other person through the same pain as she is, so that the other half knows what she is going through. The rest of the song is pretty much a repetition and confirmation of the above. Sounds like the relationship was passionate [they couldn't handle the millionth degree, we were criminals, as we were burning], but has come to a painful end now as well. Lovely song btw. Couldn't make out the lyrics when I first heard the song, but looking at these lines, I appreciate the music even more. :) |

I think it is: Sky is cold and grey and not Sky is gold and gray . Beautiful song by the way, heard it for the first today and I've had it on repeat since. The lyrics are amazing. I especially love the 'So I write your name in my breath on the window, Sit and watch as it fades away'-part... |

| Queen – I Want To Break Free Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Amazing song from an amazing band. I interpretate it the following way: 'I want to break free'. He's moaning about the person he's with, and that he wants to break free from the persons lies. As the song progresses, I interpretate this verse as some kind of excuse for how he truly feels: he says he want to get rid of the person he's with, but secretly he doesn't want that at all. That what a lot of people do: it's called putting up a brave face! 'I've fallen in love'. This verse shows what his true feelings are. He is in love with someone and he's convinced that it's real. 'It's strange but it's true' He's kind of doubting wether he wants to break free or not: It's strange but he can't seem to get over the way how this person loves him. But, he continues to give himself power by saying that 'he wants to break free, he wants to break free'. 'But life still goes on' He has broken up with the person, and as everyone always says: life goes on. But he can't get used to living without this love. Now he wants to break free from the feelings of wanting the person back, but deep down he just wants to be with the person. At least, that's my interpretation, I tried! ;) |
