I agree, it simply seems to be about that it's good to have a proper sleeping schedule. I mess with this as well, so some lines seem very clear to me.. " There's no sense being so extreme, Act instead, There's no life living in your head". Stop to dream, and do what is obviously the best. Give up your dream world, but face life like it is. |

Great song, but very cynic. But also absolutely pointless, it's almost a shame to wast a great song like this with such trivial lyrics. But in the end, the singer has to sing something, so there have to be some lyrics. |

| Spock's Beard – The Great Nothing Lyrics

There's really no need to wonder what this song is about. Is's about the great nothing, as the title says.
It starts with this, it ends with this, and in between, it's the lifes we make. No one knows where this comes from, It's a miracle, it's the note that comes out of nowhere. It's just what we do with this, as that's what the most of the song is about (hopes and dreams and how people fail with them). But in the beginning, it seems to start out of nowhere, and it ends with this.
I think it corresponds very much to the first song (at th end of the day), and in generel, I think the whole record is about life and death and the way you spend the time in between. For example. "all on a sunday" seems to be dealing with a person spending a boresome sunday, but it might be as well about spending your whole life with an attitude like this. |
