i think its about a groupie that is absolutely devoted the band. she has a bf, she's underage, yet she's also sleeping with the band behind his back (he suspects, which is why he has beef). she figures that the band should appreciate her more (tongue pressed to her cheek in anger & sadness)yet she sees them sleeping around with every chick they see (just another girl, alone at the bar). yet she still remains devoted, even though they obviously disrespect her. and the band are the ho's basically. and they dont care. |

beltane is a celtic festival, celebrated on may the 1st. during the day there would be markets and flower garlands, singing, dancing etc. but at night, the bonfires would be lit, and lovers would pledge their intentions to eachother. it was a night of fertility, so 'everything' was encouraged. basically, anything goes on beltane. |

its sex alright, but the most beautiful kind. i also dont think they were virgins. listening to it, i think they were friends, always wanting to go that one step further, but not, until now. (the whole i'll be fine, you'll be fine bit) but during the sex itself, i think he realised that he truly feels more towards her than just friendship and sex. he loves her (what makes the want to shake you down?) but he doesnt understand it. its a beautiful song, perfectly done. |

to me, this song is about his life falling apart, but he is living in this dream state of a stranger he might've seen who was in love like he once was i cant find myself, in the head of this stranger in love so yer, the entire song is him comparing his life to this other person, trying to live it out in his head, but he cant, so he becomes more lost thats evident by the way he refers to himself as he, isntead of i in parts. but the whole song is very dream like. every line seems to be a different reality in his head |
