The key to understanding this song, for me, was realizing there are two voices speaking, and I do believe it is a song about sexual abuse. The younger character feels intense angst and loneliness and he knows the older character is in an abusive position toward him but the younger person is up for it, sadly, because it's some attention, but it really damages him and once he gets a little older he tells the tale ("it's time the tale were told"). The younger character yearns for love from someone... |

| Any Catholics out there who can speak to the Monday through Friday thing? It reminds me of the crucifixtion...I realize it took Jesus a much shorter time to die, but is there significance in the the Catholic church for the week of Good Friday? Friday in this song corresponds with death...just a thought; I wonder partially about the religious symbolism since he IS dressed like a priest in the video. | |

The first time I heard this song it gave me chills because it sounds like Jeff Buckley is in this song, singing... My impression of "receiving just everything" is that even in that moment of dying he was absorbing the experience entirely...that sounds strange, but I'm not sure how else to say it. |
