There is a recurring theme in Billy's songwriting. He writes alot about being in love with someone very much, but for whatever reason you cannnot truely be together. I have noticed that in almost every single song he writes about love. It is very true about love- most of the time there is always something that comes in between two people. Billy has a way of getting that across in such a beautiful way. Love with a touch of darkness. Magic. |

Wow! I loved the song from the very beginning, I just didn't have the lyrics. I just read them and I think Xebeche described their meaning well. For anyone who thinks this album isn't as personal as the others, well, they just need to take a little time to listen more closely and they will see that the Pumpkin magic has not faded. |

This song to me is about the love\hate relationship with his fans. "I don't want to finght, every single night" means he is tired of fighting with all the fans who keep wanting them to produce another Siamese Dream . The "we are the real if real ever was" refers to the fact that the Pumpkins haven't always had the same lineup, but they are still the Pumpkins. "Don't break the oath" means don't give up on them. "I want to be there when your happy, I want to love you when your sad" means he wants the music to continue to be a part of our lives. All in all another rockin your ass song from the Pumpkins. Long live the mighty SP!!! |

You all have some interesting ideas... It is definately about his spirituality. He is saying "tonight you'll never need another sound" because everything that is important is in the light, in the song. And the part where he says "here and gone I trust you'd spit upon my dust" just means that once the song is over you won't get it and you you will just say it's crap, but "as a son of God you know you must arrive in the light" meaning that deep down you know in order to find peace you need to discover "the light"(aka God). My favorite line is "don't let them steal what's yours by right", everyone has a right as a human being to find their peace and you shouldn't let the haters in the world take that away from you. It is a shame more people don't understand this album. I hope this all makes sense!! |

This song to me is about Billy's spirituality. He saying "Come on, let's go" to a place of peace and away from the "punched up skulls" of the people who are negative and still lost. He says "I wanna love" and "I'm pushing back", he is fighting off the hate. He also says "tears were once my only way back home" meaning he only could find peace once he had gone through turmoil. I love this song and the whole album. Siamese Dream does kick ass and It is always there for those of you who don't care for this album. Just don't listen to it and stay trapped in the past. |
