Taking Back Sunday – The Union Lyrics | 14 years ago |
To me, this song is about him addressing his recent ex who cheated on him with his best friend (hypothetically speaking), and he's writing them both off. At least that's the first thing I thought of when hearing it. |
Bouncing Souls – Shark Attack Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I have a feeling this song is about an inside joke within the band. You can tell especially in the dialogue in the beginning right after he says "They're scum, I tell you right now, they're homeless people!", he laughs a little bit, and right after he laughs is when he says "it's the same thing". Great song, my 5 year old brother loves to sing "SHARK ATTACK! SHARK ATTACK!" along with it, ha. |
The Blood Brothers – Every Breath Is a Bomb Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The drumming in this song is fantastic. And as always from these guys, AMAZING lyrics. They word things so powerfully. |
Britney Spears – Mannequin Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Okay so is it just me, or does it sound like she's saying "love is like a mannequin" insted of "my face is like a mannequin"? because although "my face" works better and is more appropriate for the song, I'm hearing "love". |
Queensrÿche – Revolution Calling Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Yeah, well how does that to relate to the story? I think of it as Nicki is just some lost teenaged kid, kinda not having anything going for him, and he hears for this Dr.X guy who is starting a huge anarchic revolution, and Nicki thins he has all the answers; "but the time is ripe for changes, there's a growing feeling that taking a chance on a new kind of vision is due." He wants to be involved in this because he believes in it. And I agree, the lyrics in this song are golden. Really relevent to what we are facing today, and I think they're timeless in the sence that the war now is a paradox. |
Queensrÿche – Electric Requiem Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Yeah, he finds her dead thus begining the downward spiral. "I want what you feel, believe me" he wishes he was dead too. The music really makes it obvious that it's all up in flames now, and that there's nowhere to go but down. Sad, kinda makes you feel bad for Nicki. |
Queensrÿche – Suite Sister Mary Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Dr. X killed Mary and made it look like she killed herself? I never though of it that way, but now that I do, that makes so much sence. Why would Nicki kill Mary? He loved her and became more devoted to her than the revolution. Everything was going right as X had planned untill Mary came into the picture, and he may have seen the change in Nicki's priorities, therefore wanting her dead because "she's a risk". The music right after X tells Nicki really gives you the feeling that Nicki would have had. That "oh shit, what do I do?" kind of feeling. Genius. "Moving silent, through the streets, they're mine, they're mine" illustrates exactly what Nicki has been brainwashed to think about people; that they're just people, and with his gun and the false sence of confidence he obtained in working for X, they are his prey. That's what I get from this song. |
Queensrÿche – The Mission Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I love everything abut htis song, the best one on the album in my opinion. And I agree, this is kind of the turning point for Nicki when he realizes hes in love with Mary, and he becomes more devoted to her than Dr. X. |
Queensrÿche – The Needle Lies Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Are you sure? The rest of this abum's storyline is pretty clear to me, but I don't remember any other refrence to drugs in it. I know this song is about Nikki trying to escape from Dr. X, but I don't fully understand the needle parallel. I think the heroin idea of it may be too literal, but I can't think of any other explanation. |
