...i know right. the comments area for this website is for posting what people think or consider what these songs mean. i appreciate the love of the fans for posting these "i love this song/band" comments but pls add some input with it. regrading the song, i think it's definitely about relationships but specifically relationships of married couples and its effects to their children or the youth. |

| ...from what i've heard from a close friend of mine, this song is really about the band. you can have your own interpretations of it from being about love or bert's ex or drugs or whatever but the main gist is that the taste of ink is about the band's rise to success. This song was the last song they made in the album from what i know and it was the first song released or at least the song that made them famous. It's about finally, after the hard work put thru the album, they've reached fame. and true enough, they had the spotlight on them. great band, beautifully written. the song's classic for our generation. | |

...can someone add what the second voice part is during the part "i know you're coming in the night like a thief..." til the end of that verse. haha pls? or repost it if it's already been posted here, too many comments. and responding from one of the comments, the part "...does Thomas, ask to see my hands?" it's about when Christ resurrected during the 3rd day, St. Thomas the apostle didn't belive that Jesus has risen so he asked Christ to show him His hands to see the wounds from the nails when Jesus was crucified. one of the best songs written i believe. grreat use of allegories and metaphors from the bible passages. i love it. |

...i think this songs is about a family or a couple having a baby. coming from the astrology point of 2 libras being a good couple, the third one might be their baby. the first verse is about the pregnancy stage where the mother has the baby in her womb and thinks of a name for her child. all the succeeding metaphors can relater to a baby (fallen angel, the part where the mother can see it but the baby can't see her cause it's still in the womb) plus in the video there are scenes where Maynard i think was in a womb. but that's just me. great song. classic. |
