Hermans Hermits – No Milk Today Lyrics 16 years ago
This is how I read the song :
The narrator is a milkman, who used to deliver milk at the girl's house. They used to have a love affair, and drink milk together. Yet, one day, he finds the girl has left the house (either because she moved out or because she died --> possible interpretation due to the word "shrine" ???), so he is no longer drinking milk with her as he delivers the milk and the bottles are left unopened.

Sinead O'Connor – Emma's Song Lyrics 17 years ago
Sorbitolith > Might be. However, the name of Sinéad O'Connor's daughter is not Emma. This song is so simple yet so powerful, I think it can be "molded" into millions of interpretations. And that's what makes it so powerful.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Hiding All Away Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm not really familiar with Nick Cave's lyrics, I've never sat down trying to analyze them seriously, but instinctively, this song reminds me of another by Alanis Morissette... "Would Not Come" ("i would go shopping and still
it would not come
i'd leave the country and still
it would not come
i would scream and rebel still
it would not come
i would stuff my face and still
it would not come"
Trying to find something that is too elusive to be grasped. In Nick Cave's song, it reaches a mystical dimension, whereas Morissette's song is more on the personal level, to me...
