the song captures peter parkers struggle perfectly... on choosing between being with the love of his life and saving the citizens of NYC..and ultimately his gift is a curse by sucking him into the hero that he has the power to be... i beleive that anyone who has been in a situation where they want to be with someone they love but circumstances forbid it - would relate to this song perfectly... truly a great song and my favourite song...one that you can listen to countless times without losing that vibe and feeling to the song... the movie is easily my favourite out of the series and maybe even my favourite movie..and simply because of the magnificent soundtrack and emotion that come with it and the film.. |

i think this song is about falling in love with your best friend..or hooking up with them .... he is hesitant because she is so important to him as a fridn that he doesnt want to have a relationship with here because that could risk their fridnship "your just too good to loose, and i cant refuse, so dont make me choose" ... i think she is pushing for them to be together and he is saying "dont make me choose" as in, he doenst want to choose between being with her apposed to remainging friends. "now you've come this far to meet me and I know, I know you're mine he knows that she feels that way about him and she knows he feels the same.. "It's as if you've come along too soon And I'm trying to fit you in but I can't seem to find the room Cutie, if it all falls through We can piece it back together, I can learn to trust you too" he is saying this whole thing has hit him so suddenly and he did not expect it to happen..he's trying to make sense of it all and decide on whether to be with her but he "cant make up the room" for her.. he fears that their fridnship might fail because of them hooking up..and says We can piece it back together, I can learn to trust you too" in the end he tells her that her friendship is too important to him..and he doesnt want to jeopardise that..but he still tells her that he loves her..whether that be platonically or legitimately.. and throughout the song it seems clear how much he loves her: Pretty, if the sun won't shine Pretty, teach me wrong from right Don't you know who you are You're my shooting star hope this makes sense...i only make this presumption about the meaning because iv been in that boat so to speak |
