I do think this song’s about sex—or rather, society’s unhealthy preoccupation with it. ‘Do we all learn defeat from the whores with bad feet?’ To me, that’s always been about hypocrisy. When we look at prostitutes, we look down on them, but in reality we’re selling sex so carelessly as they are. I think that the song’s saying that no matter what we do, sex will always be an integral part of our lives, no matter how much we abuse it or say we focus on more important things (hence ‘liar’). Of course, that’s just my opinion, not saying it’s right.

I agree with geminijes. This song really captures what it's like not to know what you're looking for, to hating yourself. You try to call out to the little pieces of support, but nothing comes. You suffer alone until you're sick of being sad and try to end it all. As for their sexuality, I don't think it's really about that. :/
