The first time I heard Dave play this was when he was playing solo. Probably one of the most amazing songs, and performances I've heard. Daniel Lanois is one of my favorite songwriters. |

I first heard this on the Dave Matthews Band Listener Supported dvd. I was in tears after listening. It's a great story, and Dave sang it perfectly, with the right emotion and everything. I listened to Johnny Cash's version, then Lefy's, but nothing compares to Dave's. He just had that feeling for the song, that I didn't get from anyone else. Still though, the original writer of this song did an amazing job. I love the story. |
