Basically, it's about this girl. And she's in love with a guy. But he only thinks of her as a friend who plays sports and hangs out with him and the boys, and she's sick of it, so she gives herself a makeover to be more ladylike (or at least dreams about it.) And then he'll see: she's perfect for him. While I wish she didn't use the idea of "hot pretty Seventeen girl = likeable / sporty best friend type of girl = unlikeable," this song is totally applicable to my life. The guy I like is one of my friends and he only thinks of me as "K, that freakin' hilarious friend of mine." It's saddening, so it's nice to know there's such a fun, catchy song about feeling like more than "just friends." |
