I feel this song is actually about a father beating his two children. "I believe in you, I can show you that I can see right through all your empty lies I won't stay long, in this world so wrong" This is sort of the children saying "dad, we know you aren't like this, why are you doing this?" "As we dance with the devil tonight Don't you dare look at him in the eye" This is the actual act of the father beating the children. "Trembling, crawling across my skin Feeling your cold, dead eyes Stealing the life of mine" Again, a child seeing an abusive parent. Scared and seeing no life in the abuser's eyes. I feel that the "hold on" vs "say goodbye" is one child trying to keep the other one's spirits up. Almost like a "hold on, it will be over soon" while the other child thinks he/she is about to be killed. Just my take on it though. |
