I personally don't think it's got anything to do with starting in a new place. I think it's more about escaping real life and being in an environment that you treasure and cherish. 'I feel at home here in the middle of nowhere' probably represent the running away from the adversities in their life and being calm, happy and peaceful again. The line, 'please oceancloud, let there be no storm on the crossing below' means, let me enjoy this moment forever - it's my chance to escape and I want to cherish every little detail. He/She who is running away doesn't want it to be a pathetic fallacy situation - he genuinely went on a journey to escape from everyday life and doesn't ever want that moment to end. |

| The song is definitely about making the decision to break up with someone you really love. He/She has 'two pence pieces in [his/her] hand', representing the 50/50 decision between breaking up with someone or not. He/She has to make this decision on their own and it's hard and heart wrenching - he/she knows the relationship has changed so much that in his/her head it seems the best decision - he/she just doesn't ever want to lose that loved one that shared a huge part of his/her life ('stay in touch...try not to think about me too much'). | |
