The Lotus eaters are a tribe in Africa who feed on the white lotus (a plant). The plant causes the people to lose their memory, thus all the lotus eaters are totally mindlless without a purpose. Well can anyone fit that into the song? |

Linkin Park is the epitome of terrible music. They represent everything I hate in modern music. Now I'm a musician...and I look to every style of music for talented musicians and songwriters. But LP has NONE of that. They cannot write songs, play instruments (turntables are NOT an instrument), write lyrics, nor sing. They are terrible. They suck the shit out of my ass with the gaping whole between their two discolored front teeth. I agree that this site is about lyrics..period. Don't u tenner bopper posers come on and talk about how much this song rocks. You are all uncultured machines . Listenin to LP does not make you different. IT MAKES YOU THE SAME! Fuck LP fans worldwide and have a good night.

I love these lyrics. They sound even better when ur just pissed off and too upset to fight back. It's about despair, loneliness and insignificance. He feels like a man whose lost all feeling and emotion in a world that has lost its feeling. "Out of this lake I've tried to crawl/I think I'm there and then again I fall" He tries to escape it, but every time he attempts he just gets lost deeper and deeper in the "dead world".

Also...we learn that the miracle is the "witness" in "Beyond this life"....he killed the sleeper and victoria and made it look like the sleeper pulled a homicide/suicide. Great album, great story |

well the song is pretty all voer the place. Metallica is one of my favorite bands of all time but I have to admit, their lyrics aren't that good. The music is beautiful, and I love the structure of the song...but the lyrics really don't do it for me. "Jaymz" has written some lyrics I do appreciate...Mama says, UNforgiven, otheras...but for the most part...they're just Eh.
