Scar Symmetry – Ghost Prototype I: Measurement Of Thought Lyrics 17 years ago
Knowledge in itself has not a negative or positive value, but truth and falsehood exist, as they are not human values - but how we view the current natural laws. For example, I could claim that binary code does not exist - but hey, we are still on this website which could not have been here without bindary code. What I just said, is knowledge, as you know(-ledge) that I have just expressed that binarycode does not exist. That does not make the content of the claim "true". "Correct knowledge" are facts like, Humans are, if you zoom in enough - just particles. "Correct knowledge" can also imply something, as, "Humans in their current state would never have evolved to their exact current state if water did not exist".

"If someone else perceives it differently, who's to say which is truly "right"?"

You cant have two truths that crosses eachothers theories, and still claim both to be correct. But I think you misunderstood me, it is not as if you cannot look at things in different perspectives. Look at the situation of raising a child. Is it overall "right" to hit a child? That is a matter of perspective and moral. Knowledge can be acted upon, in making the choice of should I or not hit the child. My own take on this situation, is that a moral that is based upon knowledge, is the correct one. "Correct" is basically the optimal answer for an multiple answer-test.
You should not drive a car, unless you know how you should drive a car, in accordance to safety, comfort and joy of other persons, passengers and yourself. This type of information is gradually starting to develop itself as more research is done.

I had little time to say this before class, but I will check on this from time to time if anyone comments - I will gladly take more time to give a more precise and articulated answer.

I agree on much you say maulsl. Allthough I phrase my opinions differently than you would do.

Basically, even though a person may be intelligent, we still have not evolved far enough too lay down the side of which that conjure hatred. I believe this is an explanation of intelligent persons gaining higher motivation from the attacks of those he views as currently lesser beings.

The lyrics is the mindset of someone who knows he is above others, and no matter what intricate lies they perform against him - he knows them to his core that they are untrue. Venom in this case is falsehood, and trying to stop someone with the falseness is kinda like dozing a fire with gasoline, hoping it to stop burning.

I also do believe that this song is not about those who openly expose themselfs as believers of certain mindsets, and strive to learn this mindset to others. Those mentioned are the ones unsure of their choice of belief, yet they defend it without thought. Hollow inside - it is something they cling onto and perhaps define themselfs against, yet they do not fully believe it.

It is basically these people there are most of in this world too, but they are perhaps harder to single out, as they voice their opinions discretly (From the shadows) in the hidaway, safe environment of friends. There, they may can influence other people slowly, without riscing themselfs - it may not even be a consiouss effort! But still, it is making the writer of these lyrics furious.

Henrik O. is a serious thinker. I love these concepts.

Scar Symmetry – The Path Of Least Resistance Lyrics 17 years ago
I believe this song is about how humans constantly tries to get answers for every action the universe has done. The universe is unfathomably complex, but we still try to wrestle with our theories, gaining closer and closer to the real truth.

On the way though, some of us fall into traps of irrational thinking, and decide this is what we will define as "truth". As Scar Symmetry has always hinted their dislike of religion, I do believe The Path of Least Resistance is giving little thought to facts, and instead having a theory, then bend the facts around that theory; instead of actually follow the facts that define a new theory.

It also speaks about the hardships of those of us that really do seek out the truth, as we are constantly challenged by those under the belief that they already know the truth, yet they do not. Even still, they really do belive this falsehood, and are vigorous in their beliefs.

Too analyze a small part, but the most important in my opinion, is the 3d verse:

"Perplexed in vast complexity
Ghost in the machinery
Seeking the exit constantly
Facing a hopeless endeavour
Being one's own saviour
Lost without a guiding star"

The first line talks for itself, the universe really is extremly complex, it is frustrating not too understand all of it. Therefore, we get unsure of ourselfs - and often seek comfort instead of whats reality.

The second and third line speaks of our desire to always push on to get answers, an explanation of some sorts so that we can deal with it more easily. To say "we do not know yet", can be unacceptable to certain personalities, unfortunatly.

The last three lines speaks of the frustration of not being able to help oneself even though you as a consiousness are alone to change your thoughts. "Indoctrinated in false grace" as SS mentions in another song comes to mind, makes you weak in the ability to define scientific values as your statements and really change your way of thought.

You are often unconsiouslly being learnt not to trust yourself by society, yet this is a fundamental part of being able to achieve a higher state of consiousness.

My thoughts of this atleast.

Yet another masterpiece by The Scars. As evolution designed our minds with cerebral cortex etc, our minds also developed ability to influence everything with our thoughts. I have commented on some other SS songs and referred to a book called The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton, which is a great introduction to the term Epigenetics, and how newfound biology infuse quantum theory in the search for explanation of life - buy it if you are interested in these topics!

"A law of nature undefined
Subtle force we find at play
A door to thoughts revealed now
Open the gate, step outside the frame"

A new law of nature; our consiousness, or rather, the will of ourselfs. Our subconsicous mind is yet too be understood, if the subconsious and consious align and have a common goal, what we define as matter will change in accordance - a part of quantum mechanics.

Basically, the two last verselines state we have to abandon indoctrinated thoughts and false knowledges we have been accepting over thousand of years; and see things from a newfound, but more correct perspective.

The overall meaning of this song as I understand it, is too get people to realize that knowledge that has been accepted for hundreds of years is in itself, wrong. Correct knowledge has now been added to the pool, it is high time to abandon the old approach to the universe and how we see ourselfs and our place in it. Step outside the frame.

Ah, this song has some of the best references to quantum mechanics and the reality of the universe as we so far are able to comprehend it.

"Change how you look at all things and what you see will change, Observer and what is observed can never break in two, The quantum revolution never cease to evolve, Forever shedding skin"

The new biology term, Epigenetics covers these points exactly. I would recommend The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton on this if you really are interested in unlocking some mysteries. Traditionall biology will never unlock secrets of life unntil they start including Quantum Mechanics in their works; as Epigenetic research do.

"A holographic world-view, existance in display
Where everything must work as one and never break in two
This concept lives forever outside all state control
And ever shedding skin"

The theory that everything is interconnected to eachother; that we are not single units, the entire universe and all its content is a single being far too complicated for humans yet to understand.

"All things new are fought against
Even though their time has come
Stretch and reach to conscious mind
Seek defeat in those who fear"

This is more of the noble and brave part of the song. It does not focus on science as many of the others parts do; but rather our reaction as a species against and/or for it. These concepts can be found as very alien too several people, so alien that our indoctrinated sense of perception often deny the science produced.

Rather to conform ourself around new found facts, we try to bend, or ignore facts such as our previous and lesser thoughts about the mechanisms of life works. Be strong, you know better - do something about it.
