Oingo Boingo – Gratitude Lyrics 17 years ago
In essence, it's still a Boingo track, just under Danny's name. The rest of the band played on all his "So Lo" tracks. This has also been included on the "Best O' Boingo" album and also performed on Boingo Alive.

Anyway, the song is about what the title says; gratitude. Talking about if life has gone the way you wanted it to, about if what another person has done to you is gratitude.

Oingo Boingo – Elevator Man Lyrics 17 years ago
"There's no getting off"...ha ha. Danny's a nut, but a loveable nut.

But seriously, a catchy track. I especially like the horns and the vocals. Even if it is about oral sex. Then again, I can name about 4 or 5 more Oingo Boingo tracks that are about sex. Yes, including Wild Sex (In The Working Class) lol

Oingo Boingo – Cry Of Vatos Lyrics 17 years ago
Very funny. Danny knew what he was doing with the backwards messages. Either that or he didn't know and it all worked out for him anyway.

The first time I heard this I laughed my ass off. This is tied for best satanic message parody with Weird Al Yankovic's "Nature Trail To Hell" (Satan eats cheeze whiz)

Oingo Boingo – Insanity Lyrics 17 years ago
Well, upon listening to it many times (it's one of my fave Boingo tracks), it seems many of you are right about it being a criticism of the Christian religion, but also a criticism of humans in general. I especially like the Dan Quayle reference; now that guy was a joke. It's spelled "potato" you idiot! lol

Oh, and loserdork, Danny Elfman IS out of his fucking mind. That's why we all love him, and why has been so successful with his music before, during, and after his years with Oingo Boingo.

Oingo Boingo – Nothing to Fear (But Fear Itself) Lyrics 17 years ago
Creepy how this song can connect to our world situation. I mean, in 1982 it had relevance. The song mentions the Russians (the Cold War had been going on since the 60's) and it mentions Arabs (which we can assimilate to our current situation).

And the "wise man" would be Franklin D. Roosevelt, the President during World War II who famously uttered the phrase, "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

While it's not a strict reference to any particular subject, the song does play on fears of people during those days. A good song, nonetheless.

Oingo Boingo – Running on a Treadmill Lyrics 17 years ago
an insanely interesting and catchy song...then again it IS Oingo Boingo.

The first thing that came to my mind is that when you run on a treadmill, you don't go anywhere, hence the lyric "you've got me so I'm running round and round in circles".
