Travis Tritt – Where Corn Don't Grow Lyrics 17 years ago
So many good references to objects that make you feel at home. When he sings about his dad staring at his favorite coffee cup you feel how this is such a REAL part of their lives.

This is such a great song, I would love to here the Waylon original.

Alan Jackson – The Little Man Lyrics 17 years ago
Man what a great song on a subject that isn't touched upon enough. It hits upon the people and their places and jobs within small towns.

In the town of 1200 where I was raised it was so similar to the points in this song. The majority of my peers wanted nothing more than to get out of town at 18, go to school, and get rich. The values that made the early to mid 20th Century so great seemed to be lost upon those from the '80s on.

"You can buy the world with just one trip
And save a penny 'cause it's jumbo size
And they don't even realize
They're killin' the little man"

What a sad song that rings so true all over the country. People need think more about how everything they do in their own lives affects the community as a whole.

John Anderson – Seminole Wind Lyrics 17 years ago
I love how he says that "progress came and took its toll". This song does a great job of relating how people seem to only see how the world can better them rather than co-existing with nature. It's such a sad song but is so true with nearly all modern civilization.
Amazing to think that the Natives were viewed as such savages but had so much of a better understanding of their place in the world. It's been hundreds of years and people still have such a view of ownership and entitlement with land.

Tracy Lawrence – Time Marches On Lyrics 17 years ago
I love how this song shows how not having any respect for yourself can lead to a wasted life. It goes from being the typical American family to nothing over the course of the kids growing up.

The dad seems to keep to himself and only be interested in himself which creates problems through the family. The mom is depressed and finally losses all touch. The brother gets hooked on drugs and lets his body go to hell. The sister is only interested in how others view her. The line about being a sexy grandma seems so messed up yet so typical.

The only positive is in the music of the times. When he says the angels sing an old Hank Williams song it seems to show how music affects our lives and is very deep. This is a great song for many reasons and does a great job of covering how families fall apart.
