Vega4 – Life Is Beautiful Lyrics 17 years ago
why does no one see that it is NOT lovers, but a brother/sister relationship. Older brother, little sister. She has some terminal illness, but he is there to try to get her through it, like he protected her when she was small...and they hope for a miracle.

I love this song, and would play it at my wedding BUT I can see that whole story like it's down on film, and while it is beautiful and makes me cry, it doesn't seem 'wedding appropriate'.

And does anyone else feel like a voyeur when they listen to it...as though it really is an intensely personal song and we are intruding on it?

wow...this is really deep.

I think this one is my favorite...at least lyric-wise

the singer seems to have a very low opinion of himself and his worth.

This AM Static – Sorry? Lyrics 17 years ago
this is a very basic song
a bit lame when just read, though it sounds better when heard.
guy is a dick
girl is hurt
guy is sorry
and it seems to happen a lot (or feels that way)
nothing deep in this one.

This AM Static – Selfish Gift Lyrics 17 years ago
well...It could be about the political situation in the world, and pollution, and the economy.
But I think it's about a family breaking up...everyone has money troubles as a result...but it's all in the lines "Please explain the reason why you gave us up " and "I think you should take the blame"
It's a finger pointing song that feels like it's pointing right at me.
very uncomfortable.....

The more I read this, the more it seems like a message in code. There are key words and odd phrases that stand out....but the main point seems to be the person the singer is referring to:" I've always believed if there were one good thing that came out of this it'd be you"
and
"you're all I see"
seem to actually be the focal point of this heavily encoded song.

ok...taking a second look here:

"Give it up b/c this questions loaded".....It seems there is too much to comprehend. A problem or dilemma w/ no clear answers....described as a maze or a whale that won't let go...forever.

The repeated line, "Don't sit, waiting for your family to come home, they're not coming back" makes me want to cry.
It seems a very sad lament.

The repeated "Keep me, I'm not useless, I am loud" etc. seems to be a cry of despair....the singer feels he/she is being/ has been cast off by someone or something...

This song seems very sad. The singer seems to feel lost and alone or cast off. All the words make me want to cry but it depends on how it is sung also.

ok...I can see 'nuclear holocaust' in this now....

on second reading the singer is an observer...NOT the one meeting a girl on a train. He sees the couple meet, he sees the 'rockets fire'
and the line "I can hear her heartbeat still, and the kids will play even as it flatlines" is the earth dying and fading....NOT the relationship...and the kids continue to play unaware of the danger that will consume them.
Quite dreadful really.

This AM Static – Wake Lyrics 17 years ago
another song about drugs and life....this one more personal, not about the frustration w/ the world at large like All There Is. A struggle w/ getting high...doing it and then not wanting to be there, not wanting the high at all, but it takes so long to come down. A song of fear, regret and struggle.

this one seems pretty basic; a relationship where one person loves or wants to (the singer) but is being pretty much ignored by the object of their affection.

the writer apparently wants to be a part of someones life...."take me with you I will be good I will be heard"
they stress the fact that they are loud and will be heard, as though intimating they have something important to say.
They are trying to get through to somebody...almost warning them..."like a whale it's not letting go" and "you will find yourself in this maze of bars" etc.
Life is not turning out exactly as expected and the writer is throwing out a life line trying to draw the person they are talking to in...trying to merge their lives.

this is a very confusing song...interesting lyrics though.
it seems to be about a relationship that isn't working out but is something of a obsession.

This AM Static – Lubec, Maine Lyrics 17 years ago
well, obviously it's about a girl named Heidi who seems to be a sad case....apparently afraid of taking a chance, and so nothing ever happens in her life.."A fear of change, of being used..." "a fear of being out of range of your comfort zone..."
Someone tried...."my heart won't always be open"...but apparently her fear was too great.

this song reeks of heartbreak.....finding the one but losing them or having them taken from you...
the line "I can hear her heartbeat still, and the kids will play even as it flatlines" seems to say it all....that love still lingers on, like the ghost of a scent, but it fades and finally dies and still the world goes on.
A very sad song.
Not sure I can see at all how it is about 'putting others ahead of yourself'...

This AM Static – Egypt Lyrics 17 years ago
this song seems to be a cry of frustration...but unlike "All There Is", this seems more about inner frustration; In All There Is the writer/singer is disgusted w/ the world at large and retreats into smoking pot ('now this old herb has cut away the pain').....in Egypt the writer longs for personal release or freedom: "Somewhere I belong to no ones' expectations anymore".......

This AM Static – All There Is Lyrics 17 years ago
the songwriter here seems embittered by society.
Finding nothing but negatives, they escape into getting high "I am so high, I can't do anything right"...but they find that is a trap in itself..."sure it don't work, but it's all there is".

I think this song is about frustration and searching for a way out, for the singer and for the world.

This AM Static – Against a Wall Lyrics 17 years ago
sounds like a guy trying to tell a girl he really dislikes her....'So don't talk to me girl, but I can't forgive you'
She did something....he's pissed, but he was going to wait it out..."I wanted to wait and watch the wires cross". He was or is waiting for it all to destroy itself.

This song tastes of bitterness.
