I don't know, to me the whole thing is sarcastic. I like to think it makes fun of anyone who thinks that he or she got a clue what "this life is all about" and what's the meaning of all, be it those who say that life is full pain and unfulfilled desires or those who believe that it's all about sunrises and the smell of fresh-cut grass. All those people who think they know it all and tell other people what life should be all about, and yet they don't know shit. Cause nobody knows it. Just the way he sings the refrain Now you're really giving everything And you're really getting all you gave Now you're really living what this life is all about with all this "shalala" in the background and those unbearably cheerful 3 chords, the sax, the clapping, it's so exaggerated and sarcastic. And all those people who pretend to know these things, saying what it's all about, how to live life, just makes me wanna punch them in the face. |
