My favorite part is "cause the world is colorblind"...I just think it's funny the way they yell it in the background in that high-pitched voice. Anyway Scott's voice sounds weird in this song, how does he do that? Sounds like he's been eating nothing but Weetabix with no milk for days on end. |

It's about someone who's isolated...probably a kid at school who gets made fun of and excluded from everybody. So he turns to destructive things like stealing and starting fires to vent. It's such a sad song no matter what it means though. |

Nevermind. I think the song's about a person he knows, and it won't make sense to anyone except that person. It seems like he's fed up with a bunch of things the person did involving jealousy and revenge so he's telling them. That's why it won't make sense to most people, the song's not made for us. |

It seems like almost all the STP songs can have one single interpreation. Some interpreations make sense with some of the lyrics but are mostly meaningless. I give up trying to figure this one out, I have absolutely no idea anymore. |

It's weird that they spell vasoline the same way as "gasoline". And I think there's references to masturbation but that's not what the whole song's about. He's using vasoline as a metaphor for his meaningless sex / drugs / jerking off lifestyle, which is destructive like gasoline. Stupid interpreation but that's what I think. |

I think it's about a kid or a teenager who has a girlfriend or something who he does bad stuff with... He feels he's come of age. But he feels guilty about whatever it is that they do. I guess it doesn't make a lot of sense but that's what I used to think it meant. I have no idea what the birthday deathbed thing means. |

I agree with everyone else on the religious thing. The guy had a religious awakening so he thinks he can cleanse himself of his sins by burning himself to death, because fire is pure. It makes sense, there's references to Adam and Eve in there somewhere. |
