probably zen, some of nothing and everything at the same time. Poet, lyricist and aspiring co-songwriter. I'd be an RV caravan enthusiast if I owned one b/c I'd like to travel. Sign is Sagittarius and I'm a wordy, someone who enjoys working with words.

Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics 2 years ago
I anagrammed the first verse of STH, letter for letter, 'banter' is spelled bantr and 'savvy' is spelled savy. This is what I came up with:

STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN
Aha, Eternity's A Vow

Led Star, yes you hear show,
Led's art still got a light,
When she aims higher to Eden
Eschew vanity, go towards show bantr,
Say seeker new sage soul contract,
N.B. Tao white area savy sends a yin hug!

Led Zeppelin – Four Sticks Lyrics 7 years ago
@[cindywi:26516]
I tend to agree with you about unrequited love, love addiction and desire obsession.
May I add, I interpret this song as the depths of a man's desire, love, dreams, fears, and wrath which are sometimes rooted in his love for a woman. As if he's fallen in or for the sake of love and yearns to be one with that love in body heart and soul, but it can never be with a certain one b/c it's not reciprocated, but he endures as we all do. As possibly the knights of honor shield their love perhaps forlorn in lore but time marches on in time and space. The river red in his head could be a the trip (like that in Kashmir) we take to a higher place, and the gray area we go through, like the purelands where weapons may be needed in some kingdoms but not in others, and perhaps an insatiable urge to follow love and desire anyway we can. It can be just a den, a bubble or enclosure for those who hide in love, the search for it, or striving to hold on being in love instead of facing the sometimes cold, harsh ruins of reality. But we keep rolling along, wipe the slate clean, and have faith in love despite ourselves and this realm. Women can plumb the depths of a man's love in order to love them and I think men would revel in that kind of mutual understanding and undertaking but where is that woman who's not chasing rainbows.

Pink Floyd – Learning to Fly Lyrics 9 years ago
Learning To Fly is about becoming aware of our thoughts, awakening, and they were ahead of their time and are still relevant. For example: "Could blow this soul right through the roof of the night, There's no sensation to compare with this, Suspended animation, a state of bliss." An out-of-body experience that can happen spontaneously for eg. listening to music, by way of (Tantra) Yoga routine, or perhaps drug induced (and becoming Comfortably Numb to sedate the experience of awareness). A Kundalini experience when it rises up the spine ecstatically and your soul/essence/lightbody exits out your 3rd eye or crown chakra while your body lies sleeping. You/mind/essence goes through a gray area then settles in a holding area. You are imbued/made up of an energy that can only be described as love; it responds to your thoughts because you are your thoughts; bounce and you feel it, etc. You realize you're a soul. You are 'above the planet' above your head as it were with no direction... you have to try to get your bearings. "Out of the corner of my watering eye" is that you have eyes to see but no corporal body... this is similar to Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir" (replete with zen terms like 'wasted land') not about the place but about a trip to the astral "with no provision but an open face" with your mind thoughts only. PF other song "Keep Talking"... "Why won't you talk to me, You never talk to me, What are you thinking, What are you feeling, Why won't you talk to me, You never talk to me, What are you thinking, Where do we go from here," is about the thoughts you have in your head when you become aware of your thoughts; it's a if a dialogue is going on between you (asking questions) and your Higher Self (your true self); you may even experience "blinking" "yes" "no" "maybe" (depending on what you believe), after you have finished a thought, and Suddenly songs and words have two meanings.. for eg. a love song could be about you talking to yourself. The Beatles "Let It Be" is about this internal talk (Robert Plant calls it the ceaseless roar on his new album), sometimes you ask yourself a question and don't have the answer so just let it be there will be an answer (I've had to google alot!). I know it sounds a little weird or crazy but the band can vouch for this explanation. By way of comparison, Led Zeppelin's "Going To California" is not about the place, it's about a trip (probably drug induced hence "jet plane") to the astral aka the 4th/5th dimension to find his soulmate; "I think I might be sinking" is falling out of the blissful state. "Ride a white mare" is Pegasus the couple's horse, "in the footsteps of dawn (or dome) is the 3rd eye (inner seeing); "wondered how tomorrow could ever follow today" is when you are (up) in this bodiless state you are your thought one thought at a time, no past, no future, positive thoughts appear to expand you and vice versa. @[Divi:16825] Bustle in your hedgerow is a buzzing, tingling sensation as in when you are becoming more aware, etc. Oh and "to be a rock and not to roll" is your inside thoughts... lean not to far to the right or left but stay on the middle path.

Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics 9 years ago
STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN
There's a lady who's sure
All that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
When she gets there she knows
If the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for
Ooh ooh ooh ooh and she's buying a stairway to heaven

One way to anagram it:

AHA, ETERNITY'S A VOW!
Led Star, yes u hear show,
Led's art still got a light,
When she aims higher to eden,
Eschew vanity, ether thaws, heals self,
Go towards show bantr,
Say 'seeker new sage soul contract'
N.B. Tao white area sav(v)y sends a yin hug!

The Kinks – Strangers Lyrics 9 years ago
This is a song of becoming "aware", ie. "awareness". The strangers are his mind of which he is now aware. He will follow it. He will question it. "mind our mouths and beware our talk" The chatter is inside the mind between questioner and answerer. Sometimes you find yourself talking out loud as if talking to another but discover you're talking to your own mind. In a promised lie you made us believe
For many men there is so much grief "having to become 'aware' or 'awaken' that they don't know what it's all about and it can drive you batty.
And my mind is proud but it aches with rage... you have a proud ego, at the same time you're angry at it all especially when you want to turn back the clock before 'awareness'.

The Beatles – Yesterday Lyrics 17 years ago
I think he is living in the present, but then something jolted him into remembering about years ago which he doesn't normally think on. In his yesterdays, there were mixed feelings, some of which he didn't even know he had!; things he didn't plan, things he didn't think about, they just happened. Paul thought he had already written the song, as though he was remembering it from the past but writing it today, so he believes in yesterday. One minute, he's happily in love or going about his business and then something may go wrong. He may feel that he's all messed up now, but no, he remembers all the yesterdays and so he has hope for the present and future. He thinks he messed it up by saying or doing the wrong thing when he's not to blame. He or someone made a choice not realizing how it affected others or may have hurt them. He may not know how he will be or feeling, or what things might be like now or in the future had he made different decisions. Some people think that their past was better, and we can all think of times that we could go back to and do it better. An "if only" sort of thing, a regret perhaps. As a result, some things can help one grow/mature psychologically that otherwise wouldn't be on your mind, or that you wouldn't dream of doing again. Or perhaps one will think something positive came of out it. When he was young, troubles seemed far away but now he's thinking some of those things were actually troubling then ("...there's a shadow hanging over me"...) and he's troubled by them now. He wants to hide from the past or the feelings of the past, or how they trouble him today, but that's not wise. He's better to accept it as it happened and not to invent plausible reasons, speculations, conclusions or opinions why they happened just to feel better about it. (rationalizing). I think it's a sad song (perhaps the mistakes or missteps that were made), but at the same time, he believes in today because of what did happen.
