i think it's about life and the system of society and conformity is the bull. it's about how everyone is struggling with the hard time were in right now. he struggles to not become the bull, to not lose himself in the world, or in the sin of the world. however in the end he says he will become the bull, he caved under all the pressure of the world. thus would make sense if they actually are selling out. they might not be screaming as much as they used to but i can imagine any pop person listening to this album. this is my favorite alnum so far, the lyrics and emotions are intense. |

i think on the surface it's definitely about drugs or is often inferred that way. however if you look beyond that there are a few metaphors underneath. the first thing i can think of is that the song is rooted with the story of alice in wonderland; which involves many things. it involves the power of imagination, being free, realizing who you are, and the fight against blind beliefs and greedy, cruel authority. you have to step out the boundaries and be on the outside looking in to see more clearly. like in dead poets society "you have to see from different point of view or angles. of course, that's always dangerous and that's the vibe i always get from this song. it's edgy and willing to be whimsy and different. |

I can really relate to this song, i believe its about being isolated and being set apart from mainstream society. "It's a god-awful small affair To the girl with the mousy hair But her mummy is yelling "No!" And her daddy has told her to go But her friend is nowhere to be seen Now she walks through her sunken dream To the seat with the clearest view And she's hooked to the silver screen" she's a very weird person and her parents don't like her so they send her to see a friend who abandons her. she eels utterly alone and the only thing she can relate to is movies. even thoguh they are the only solace to her she is becoming bored with it and wishes she could just go to anouther place..mars. because she is so weird their is a juxtaposition mars=aliens=weird=detached |
