OMG this is such a great song! I think it's about a guy who caused a fight or something along those lines with his girlfriend and they broke up, and he wants her back. He's saying that he really messed up and he didn't mean to do everything he did. The girl in the relationship is doing fine and wearing nice up to show off and show him what he's missing out on. Great song, I love his voice in this one! MFH is <3 |

Funny, I have a completely different meaning from what I think anyone else has said. When I first heard this song, I interpreted it being about suicide. My boyfriend had issues with suicide in the past and I could find something to support it in every verse of the song. "Softly we tremble tonight, picture perfect fading smiles are all that's left in sight, I said I'd never leave you'll never change I'm not satisfied with where I'm at in life." ---We are still in the same position as when we first started going out, but I'm not satisfied because he's not satisfied with his life, and he hates everything about his life and living except for me basically. and sometimes I think I might be just another stress to him. "Am I supposed to be happy? With all I ever wanted, it comes with a price. Am I supposed to be happy? With all I ever wanted, it comes with a price. You said, you said that you would die for me…." ---All I ever wanted was to be with him, and now that I'm with him I can never be happy because I know he is in such a deep depression. That's the price that he comes with. He is always telling me that he'd do anything for me and that he'd die for me. "We made plans to grow old, believe me there was truth in all those stories that I told. Lost in a simple game cat and mouse are we the same people as before this came to light? ---We both love each other and could never live without each other, but we are all doomed from the start, hence the last line. "You said that you would die for me...but you must live for me too..." ---He promised me everything, but I'm afraid he may not be able to keep himself alive for me, which is all that I want. This is the strongest line in the song that I can relate to, it's horrible because I'm trying my best to keep him happy but I still feel like he's too attached to his depression which just kills me. |
