I believe this song is talking about laceys view on atheism or belief in nothing, or about a person he knows who does not have faith. the first line obviously asks the question. but if any of you know any atheists (i happen to not have faith but do not call myself an atheist) you know that they will always try to bring doubt into whatever you believe, hence "do you carry it around just to burn things to the ground" [do you believe in nothing just to destroy everyone elses beliefs] What did you learn tonight? Shouting so loud, you barely see You're this broken thing, ^ i believe this could be about him arguing with a non-believer (or himself) what he could mean by broken thing is that this person is broken and crippled and has nothing to live for. This song has to be about Northstar they are referring to Northstar as Lolita. Lolita, they found her with love all around her tied to a vial full of life's cheapest eyeliner i think the overall message of this is that people still listen to northstar, the eyeliner part might refer to the scene pop punk girls or something who probably listen to them still (they wear cheap eyeliner?) they are keeping "lolita" alive. |
