| Frightened Rabbit – Behave! Lyrics | 11 years ago |

I disagree woth most of the comments here. Scott has said on multiple occasions this album as well as their second, Midnight Organ Fight, are breakup albums. I don't think this song is an exception. It's not a matter of being cute about a new love but instead about drifting apart and being uncomfortable with someone who was so important in the past. He says he doesnt know how to behave, innitially talking about the relationship. He then moves onto patience, waiting and trying to mend things. Eventually he goes on to distance or separation, saying he makes a mess on stage (since every song Frightened Rabbit had at this point is about her) and back to not knowing how to behave, this time because of them not being together and being unable to fix what was wrong. In the song Yawns, he talks about how they no longer can even hold conversation and how they have drifted apart to the point where yawning is more likely than knowing how to act. This song follows in the same vane. It's not him falling in love, it's him falling apart from someone he loves. It's an overview of them falling apart. |
