i think it's about this girl who's with a guy who isn't fully in the relationship. it sounds like they were together before and he broke up with her ("Don't say you never left me") or he keeps ditching her, and he denies it. and he has wandering eyes. ("When your eyes are fighting with your heart", "Don't tell me I'm the only one when your eyes won't stop fighting with your heart when you wrap your arms around me") someone else's opinion please? |

i agree with clarity_everglow i can relate to the song because of the situation i'm in right now. this guy i like is now out of the country for a month, and i wanted to make sure he knew i liked him before he left. it was just me and him the day before he left, and we had a great time just being there, and the day ended with a kiss. "Can you still feel the butterflies?" we're not together, because of the absense he'll have for a month, and i can't help but wonder if we will be together when he comes back. "We can't do a thing but wait" "If I don't let myself be happy now then when?" |

depending on what i'm thinking of, this song goes two ways, for me. it's about loving/liking someone from maybe a distance? or at least just liking that person and not doing anything about it yet. i like the song, but its sorta cliche, especially when at the end it turns out they end up together and he says "just keep on thinking of when we used to be just friends". though i agree with parawhore, it's not 100% about liking someone who doesnt like them back, only the beginning is like that. |
