you need to look at the title, its pretty much explaining itself: the song is about the helicopter hunting on wolves in Alaska. M80's are personal helicopters from whom rich people shoot the wolves. it's the bands complaint about this awful destruction of the beautiful nature. |

I was also hooked immediately and my first thought was also that it sounds more like the newer albums ;)
It's besides 80 Windows and Paper Boats my favorite song.
I think it means that you don't get better every year: you wait for the winter and the summer over and over again for something great to come along but nothing great comes you just keep stuck in your psychological problems you've been in since you were a child (and them getting even worse every year). And zen brain means a healthy mind without any problems so you want this super brain to come along and eliminate your problems. (I think zen means in buddhism the solution to all your problems [and your pain caused by your own egocentrity]).
I love those lyrics. and the sound too. especially the line: "I like sleeping I'm only safe when I'm dreaming" I can totally relate to that. the lyrics are just genius! |

I think it's about not being completely happy about something and not knowing what's missing (being stucked in something without a solution) but still going on like the fruit flies just flying those jerky patterns.

yeah how come there are no right lyrics for that song anywhere? Its definetely "hunting season" and "no good state last" and "thought stopped talking to me".
and I think its "while the summer rots in (?? hearts high? heads high? don't know)
I think this song is about getting a depression and thinking about a way to get out of it. the devil (your own bad thoughts) that is talking in your own head. and with "from now on take me along" is when you start to think good again and that you don't want these thoughts back. just my interpretation. |
