| I just posted something along these lines. Hardly a northern industrial town, in fact it only just about gets in the Midlands. | |

Although I'm well aware that the song was written as a tribute to Nick Drake, as someone who is a huge fan of both Nick and Dream Academy, I really can't see where Nick Drake is referenced in this song. Maybe the "he" was intended to be Nick in the eyes of Gilbert Gabriel and Nick Laird-Clowes but that's really as far as it goes in my opinion. Tanworth-in-Arden can by no stretch of the imagination be described as a northern town, either geographically (it's in the English Midlands) or in the context of the song. Tanworth in fact is a small village, not a town. While I wouldn't take issue with the artists you have listed as being influenced by Nick (so many have been), I cannot think for the life of me which song you are referring to in connection with The Cure. As far as I'm aware their name is a contraction of their earlier name Easy Cure, which was taken from the lyrics of a song written by drummer Lol Tolhurst. |

| Regina Spektor – Buildings Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I've always thought that she was the one talking about the buildings when she was drunk. And in the car he would lean her head gently against the side door window And in the bathroom he would hold her hair back and hope, saying; Oh they build buildings So tall these days. When she had her head leaning against the side door window she was looking upwards as they drove, and she was seeing the tall buildings passing by. The sort of thing we all do when drunk. |

| Can someone tell me what a loogie is? I'm guessing it's an American term but I've never come across it in the UK, or in the limited time I've spent in the States come to that. | |
