The Sword – Barael's Blade Lyrics 17 years ago
The word "vorpal" comes originally from a poem called "Jabberwocky" by Lewis Caroll in his sequal to "Alice in Wonderland", "Through the Looking Glass". It was later used in D&D, then it spread. I just thought whoever reading this might like to know.

And just to make a point i dont sit here and analyze this shit, im not sitting here with my compass and calculator like a Tool fan with their next album (no offense, Tool rocks almost as hard as The Sword)

The Sword – Maiden, Mother & Crone Lyrics 17 years ago
the maiden, mother and crone is a triple goddess used in some religions, mainly in ancient indo-european mythologies, kind of like the trinitarian god of christianity, but other than that, there is no similarity between the two. even the triple goddess was found in pre-islamic arabia.

on a slight tangent i'd just like to say something i found interesting about the pre-islamic tri goddess(allāt (where allah comes from), al-'uzzā and manāt). it is said that muhammed was inspired by these goddesses and hints of them are found in the qur'an, they are called by some, the satanic verses, when i saw this i was reminded of a book i read by salman rushdie called satanic verses, its a good read and i highly recommend it, but whatever, a bit off topic but, yeah, just though i'd mention it. nothing to do with the sword tho, sword, rock on

The Sword – Fire Lances Of The Ancient Hyperzephyrians Lyrics 17 years ago
well first of all, to explain the title, hyperzephyrians is derived for a greek myth about the hypreboreans, which means those who live past the north wind, in this sense hyperzephyrians means those who live past the west wind, which in my opinion would be america, because the times that JD writes about are many years ago, ancient times, where all that was known to the majority was asia, and europe, making europe the west, and now making america past the west.

if you watch the video for this song it depicts a post apocalyptic scenario, like after a nuclear holocaust.
this song is about those days.

also to me this song explains how people tend to make things mystical and magical when they are just simply normal things, like in the video how everyone finds the things left behind after the nuclear holocaust mystical and powerful, when to us now, they are merely everyday things. JD creates great imagery in the way he writes, kick ass fuckin band
