Mindless Self Indulgence – Pay For It Lyrics 14 years ago
Seems to me that the lyrics are, as they often are, about Jimmy's experience as a musician. In this case, a desire to be noteworthy. He wants to be big enough that he has people who want to hate him or want to date him–he doesn't actually care that they do so, just that they feel strongly enough about him to want to do so.

The verses are about how he knows that he can never produce something perfect in his own eyes, and that no one will ever beg to differ with the idea that his music isn't perfect. Even though he knows this, though, he can't get past it and knows he'll feel that way forever.

What he wants to pay for is the entirety of what he is–the music, the band, what he is, "all of this shit."

The "too much of one thing never hurt me baby, it is aggressive that's the message we send" part is trickier, but if I had to guess, it's responding to responses he gets about his problem. That is, people who tell him he should do something different or be less aggressive, and he's responding that those things aren't the issue and he's okay with them.

The Delgados – Woke From Dreaming Lyrics 17 years ago
Sounds to me like a situation involving a psycho killer. Singer has been kidnapped and probably raped and tortured while killer is still out hunting more people. second verse, the singer strangles their attacker to death. Rest is a message about how we don't know our own capabilities.
