this is the most beautiful song ever. i could never ever get tired of it. actually, pat monahan wrote this song about his mother, who passed away... he's said the opening lines came to him in a dream that he had about her - about her coming back from heaven (back to the atmosphere... with drops of jupiter, since she would have been in the skies...) he's said the song was sort of everything he felt he would ask her or say to her would she come back from heaven... he said back in '06 or something though that the song had evolved in the minds of listeners into more of a love song, so he had kind of begun to see it that way. howeverrr the initial significance of the song was as a sort of letter or tribute to his mother in heaven, which in my mind makes the song even more beautiful, if that's possible. |
