I love the way FOB can have a stab at the scene that has evolved around them and see it for what it really is (the stereotypical screaming scene kids who want to marry Pete) instead of distancing themselves from it all. The whole album is full of subtle references to the anger and frustration the band are feeling about their fame and fans. For instance, "I never knew that you would pick it apart, oh" obviously refers to sites like this where people analyse every word to find a deeper meaning, when Pete probably just wrote the lyrics on a whim to express the emotions he was feeling. Like Laura 2001 said, I like the way FOB don't just put the scene down and accuse everybody ("I don't blame you, for being you") but they seem quite regretful about it and want people to change. Saying this, I kind of wish the band could see the faithful fans they have and that they do mean a lot to people (which is why people"obsess" over them) It's not all bad, right? Some bands would give anything to have the kind of dedicated fanbase they have .. |
