| Radiohead – Let Down Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Well said M Garlic. For me this song captures the bleak feelings of city life at the turn of the millenium. A head trying to control a heart the aches at the crushing of an insect, The hopeless struggle for survival, the sadness of it, The hope for an escape that will likely never happen. It connects with the album cover somehow. Like all great art, it conveys something beyond language. It communicates a singular emotion - that emotion only evoked by the Radiohead song "Let Down". | |
| Elton John – Amoreena Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Amoreena takes me along long straight dusty roads lined with telegraph poles to a windswept small town somewhere in middle America, It's 1970 and I'm lost, between jobs, hopeful. But I can't seem to settle down. And there's Amoreena, the girl I left behind several dry summer towns ago, I can still see her sitting in the kitchen. We used to talk and roll and hang together as the days ran away, until time came that I just moved on - cause that what I had to do. Oh I miss you Amoreena. |
