My take on this song is that it's about a dying soldier going through his last moments of life, this song is his message to his family, friends and wife & kids possibly, he's telling them he'll always be there with them in memory "Dream of me, locked inside your mind I’ll hide"
I'm not coming home is what gave it away for me, and no offense to people who think it's him trying to get a girl, but usually in a song about that if he's trying to get the girl... they wouldn't have a home together for him to go to already....

this is simply a song about some sort of relationship, family, Girlfriend/boyfriend type deal, "Grab the bull by the horns" basically means there is a feud between the people in the relationship. That he's really trying to keep it all together, but eventually snaps or "becomes the bull"

I think you have to look to the instrumentals as well to totally get the song, think of the music as a story ROFL.
But no seriously it's about sticking to your core beliefs and always trudging on no matter how much swamp you have to wade through....
