Joss and Angie actually wrote the song together so the lyrics are specific to the show. It's basically talking about all the men in Buffy's life and that, one way or another, they always abandon her. Night falls I fall And where were you? And where were you? Warm skin Wolf grin And where were you? I would interpret this to be either Riley or Parker. I fell into the moon And it covered you in blue I fell into the moon Can I make it right? Can I spend the night? Referring to her death at the end of season 5 and her relationship with Spike. High tide Inside The air is dew And where were you? Wild eyed I died And where were you? This is more ambiguous but I think this is about Angel not being around for the fight with Glory. I crawled out of the world When you said I shouldn't stay I crawled out of the world Can I make it right? Can I spend the night? Alone I think this is talking about Giles leaving right after Willow brought her back. |
