| Elliott Smith – Christian Brothers Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I'm with plutonium, I think there's way more in this lyric than just a reference to alcohol... Something like this: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,29942,00.html "...That day he encountered "a man with a weapon"--a Christian Brother who beat him with a leather strap. Brennan still has no idea why he was beaten but thinks "it was a sort of initiation to let me know who was boss." Throughout his five years in Artane he says he was subjected to physical and sexual abuse. " |

| David Bowie – The Pretty Things Are Going to Hell Lyrics | 17 years ago |

To me the song should be taken litteraly, as we humans are decaying so quickly that soon all pretty things will be gone to hell...the dragon is the devil itself... the song may also refer to something (bowie) crossing the invisible barrier to lower levels of reality (hell)...that would explain the 'I'm reaching the very edge, I'm going to the other side this time'....Also, the lines 'I found the secrets, I found gold' also seems significant to me, as meaning the occult acitivities that bowie was involved, and his relationship with the occultic 'The Golden Dawn' group. |

| David Bowie – Life on Mars? Lyrics | 17 years ago |

To me, the line 'Mickey Mouse has grown up a cow' speaks about the American decay in the first place. But I believe it also has a more deep/darker meaning. There are many authors who wrote about Disney's involvement with the occult world, and how Disney's creations reflect these occult teachings. The same authors also allege that Disney was a key person on underground porn rings, especially involving little girls in snuff films, mind control experiments, etc. |

| David Bowie – Something in the Air Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Following the interpretation above, the sentences 'Nothing left to save', 'A place of no return', 'We can't avoid the clash, the big mistake Now we're going to pay and pay, The sentence of our lives' and 'We used what we could To get the things we want' gain a different meaning....as if they refer to a bargain with the devil |

| David Bowie – Something in the Air Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I'm not sure of why I think this (maybe because Bowie always express occultic themes in his lyrics), but to me the song speaks of the relation between him and another ethereal entity (a demon, if you will)...he danced with it too long (to go back)...and the 'something in the air' express this invisible things that regular men don't know about. | |
