to me this means. Its about a one sided relationship "im open your closed" Which could mean a million things but i think it means hes ready, shes not. He's a follower, a sweetheart if you will. she is tough, or a leader. "Where I follow, you'll go" He worries he's not good enough for her "I worry i wont see your face light up again" or that she wont be happy with him. Even the best fall down sometimes, to him she is the best. Sooo hes standing up for her. The wrong words seem to rhyme. good use of Irony. he knows they collide. which could mean they clash OR my way of thinking, they mix well. he's quiet you know..., backing up my follower point. SHe makes a first impression, as in hotty or leader. either way. lol. "im scared to know im always on your mind" it means that he is shy, or nervous to know someone could love him.... when he says "Even the stars refuse to shine" he either means that hes sad without her or that sometimes your mind is cloudy and you cant shine all the time, like the stars. I agree with Vexxed on the next verse.Don’t end the relationship here, he’s lost his place in her heart, he’s gaining her back and the end "you finally find you and i collide" she finally sees that they are soulmates and notices him. yay, it could mean a variety of things. one never knows with Howie Day, very good writers but this is what the song means to me... |

well if you ask me...its about a guy who is with a girl, girlfriend or prostitute. and all the guys are looking at her in a desirous way. he's jealous it makes his back burn. The world drags me down he's upset with the world for lusting after her and not respecting her. (if shes a prostitute) as much as he hates that, everything is better when they get home and she's "sparkly" lol. Idk I agree with opinionhead. I just think it's funny artists write this stuff and then laugh at us when we're clueless. But its a beautiful song none the less. Beautiful words and music. |
