yes, I think you're right. "Are you dead or are you sleeping?" When people come off drugs, especially if they've binged, you could swear they were dead. It's absolutely about drugs, I can't believe everyone has missed that. |

This song is DEFINITELY about self-medication. "Your solar bipolar panic disorder seems Harder & harder & harder Still you try to control it" Talking about using drugs to try to control bi-polar. I come from a family full of mental illness, I do it myself sometimes. "Minus the speed Could you imagine the phobia?" A lot of times drug addicts use speed as an "upper" when they're taking other drugs, to keep the high a little happier and less paranoid. Good to read some lyrics I can relate to. |

I relate to every part of this song. I think she's expressing her restlessness and confusion. She's hurting and she doesn't want to work through it. She doesn't feel strong enough. She seems to hate the idea that she's becoming like her mother, and she's losing self-esteem. And I think the line "my lullaby sounds more like distant screams, I wake up sleep-deprived after every dream" could be a reference to the song (which is a song about her mother). I'm in the same sort of boat. I've had to deal with some pretty messed up things, as have a lot of people, but it messes with my sleep. I have so many nightmares, which I usually don't remember but I jump or wake up scared, screaming or crying pretty often. I could sleep an entire night and wake up the next day completely exhausted. And I completely agree with the line "I wish my restlessness would open doors" I stay up all night, I think about things and I reach the lowest lows and I just wish that there was a reason for it. I wish the horrible dreams and the thoughts would bring me to some conclusion, but it never does. This song is unique. It really is. |

I love this song. Pretty good criticism of today's society. This part is probably her best: "So love your neighbour, and love your enemy But don't you do it in a place where anyone can see So won't you lay down, and spend some time with me Well I'm hoping that you're joking I always thought that love was free They're gonna start charging for the air that you breathe" We've become robots in a sense. |

Beautiful song. There are some missing lyrics here. The beginning of this song is absolutely gorgeous. I love the way it builds. It's all pretty straight forward. It's about how we spend our whole lives getting closer and closer to death ("dying from our birth") She encourages us to make something of ourselves while we have the time. "We must make life have some worth" Pretty moving stuff. I wish more people listened to the Scanners. |

Does anyone else think that she writes some of these songs for Jason Reeves? I bet she's in love with him. |

I can't believe there's only 3 comments on this. Really not 100% sure what it's about but I love the sound and particularly this line "Don't get crushed by the iron fist Resist resist resist resist resist!" I just saw Rancid in orlando... I wish they would have played this song. |

My favorite of radiohead's new album... Not really sure what Thom was aiming for us to think about the song, but I like what it means to me. Still sounds like a suicide note as much as everyone tries to toy with that idea. Still love it "You are my center when I spin away" That line kinda echoes in my head. |
